Welcome Back

Hello 2025!

It’s been a minute or two since I was last here. Well, ok. A year. But who’s counting? I’m happy to report that the dream that is the Fox & Dove Flower Company is alive and well. I’ve been quietly plotting and planning. I always knew this would be a long term plan and I’m ok with that, but long term doesn’t mean inactive. Much as happened since we were last together.

• My 2024 sunflower crop was eaten by the deer and anything left was overtaken with weeds.

• The wildflower field made it through its first year. Now we see what comes up after cutting it through the summer.

• The forest garden was cleaned up and much buckthorn removed.

• The small house garden was built. I’ll be able to plant small batches of flowers here to do trial runs.

• I grew my first dahlia tubers from seed and they’re currently sleeping in the garage waiting for summer.

• I grew the prettiest zinnias and was able to save seeds to use in this year’s sunflower field. Deer deterrent.

• I planted 200 peony roots and 1,100 daffodil bulbs. Still waiting for all of it to emerge and still have more to plant.

Much was learned last year and I can hardly wait for 2025. God willing and the creek don’t rise, it will be the first year of actually having product to sell.

There is much to do to get from here to there, but come back often and I promise I’ll be good about sharing updates and my journey with you.
